In her book, Gay presents this idea in five succinct sections. One of the things I think many people (ones who do not identify as “feminist”) tend to not know is that feminism stands for more than just women’s rights and equality, but stands for the rights and equality of all genders and races. In her collection of essays, Gay explores this definition and reinvents it in her own way. When you look up the word “feminism” on Google it is defined as the advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. I recently finished a book called Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay and I flew through it. I also learn something new about feminism every single day. I am a feminist, I have been for as long as I’ve known what feminism is. “I’d rather be a bad feminist than no feminist at all.” -Roxane Gay
